Rebecca Juliana Lay was destined to work in Weddings and Fashion. Rebecca was inspired to pursue her dream role while travelling through the world’s Fashion Capitals. Rebecca then spent years attending fashion and business courses, dedicated to garnering knowledge from industry experts, whilst working seven days per week in order to reach her goals. After resigning from her secure, long-term job, Rebecca ventured out and set up her new business. Rebecca attended a Wedding Planner workshop with Weddinginc and from that day her dreams became a reality! The Wedding Oracle.

Unlike other wedding planning services, The Wedding Oracle offers styling services to the entire wedding party. “After planning my sister’s wedding, I realised that my fashion background and experience gives me an edge over other wedding planners,” Rebecca says. “Rather than focussing solely on the ceremony, I can also concentrate on the needs of the couple – from helping the bride find her perfect dress, to assisting the groom with his wedding vows.” Rebecca’s styling experience puts her right at home when it is time to select the wedding gown, bridesmaid’s dresses, and suits for the groom and the best man.

The Wedding Oracle’s services can be customised to suit the needs of the couple, depending on how much assistance they’d like with the planning process. From selecting and booking the venue, vehicles and honeymoon accommodation, through to arranging a detailed itinerary to ensure the day runs smoothly, each service can be used individually or as part of a tailored package. What makes Rebecca’s service so unique is her attention to each detail – she completely dedicates herself to the event, communicating with the couple throughout the planning process. Rebecca’s passion for her work is exemplified by her commitment to attending to any request – no matter how extraordinary. “Often, the bride may have a particularly unusual request – from infusing the wedding with a specific theme, to ensuring that the groom arrives on time and that certain guests are well looked after on the day. Whatever the bride needs, I’ll take care of it.”

Rebecca also runs The Wedding Oracle’s sister business, The Fashion Oracle, which provides personal styling, wardrobe overhauls, makeovers and more. Rebecca’s experience working for a well-known Australian Fashion Designer has developed her eye for matching garments to her client’s shape, colour and personality, and she believes in taking a friendly yet direct approach to working with each client.

Initially, Rebecca’s obsession with fashion formed the basis for “The Fashion Oracle”. But Rebecca has found a new driving force. “Seeing my clients at their happiest and most confident is what really makes what I do worthwhile. Whether it’s watching a couple to celebrate their union with the wedding of their dreams, or seeing one of my clients transformed with their new image, I tear up every time!”
